This is Grandmother Irini. She came from a wealthy family and was well-educated for a woman of her day and age. When she married she was 24 years old, Grandfather was 45. She left Tanganyika in 1933 and went to Athens, Greece taking her children to school. She saw the family safely through the occupation in Athens (1940-1945) and returned to Tanganyika in 1945, where she passed away in 1960.
