is born to Irini (Rena, nee Lekanidou) and George Yatromanolakis, in Athens,
Greece.
1976
Costas G. Emmanuel
becomes involved in an unsuccessful venture to build a tourist bungalow
complex on the island of Tilos, in partnership with Nikos Dikeoulias.
1977
On
May 24, Grandfather Gregory
C. Emmanuel (b.1875) passes on
in Athens; he is 102 years old. Costas
G. Emmanuel visits Tanzania. In Kenya he is offered the job of General Manager of Dwa Plantations, Ltd., by
Bruce McKenzie. However, negotiations were not completed because
Bruce McKenzie was blown up in his plane by Idi Amin, as revenge for McKenzie's
part in the Israeli "Entebbe" operation (Air France flight #193,
1973). Gregory C. Emmanuel completes his studies at the Polytechnic
University.
1978
Costas
G. Emmanuel moves to Kenya and starts
work as General Manager of Kenya's largest sisal estate, Dwa Plantations
Ltd.
near Kibwezi .
Ketty, his wife,
joins him
later on .
1980
Anastasios
(Anastasis), son of Irini Lorna Royle (nee Emmanuel) and Pandelis (Lakis)
Protopappas, is born in Athens, Greece.
1981
On
April 27 Dimitri G. Emmanuel marries Kerasto Randaki . Costas
and Ketty C. Emmanuel purchase an semi-abandoned farm with olive
trees ,
chestnut trees and a vineyard
at Hosti
(from the Lionis
family), in the foothills of the White Mountains
on the island of Crete, Greece.
They produce their own wine
, which they name
after their friend Nikos Zannetos .
1982
Ketty,
Elli and Gregory C. Emmanuel plant about 1000 new olive trees at Kambi , on the
farm at Hosti.
1983
Iro-Lisa,
daughter of Irini Lorna Royle (nee Emmanuel) and Pandelis (Lakis) Protopappas,
is born in Athens, Greece.
1984
Constantine ,
son of Dimitri and Kerasto (nee Randaki) G. Emmanuel, is born in Athens,
Greece. Gregory
C. Emmanuel starts working for Viking Tours and Yacht Cruises as Cruise
Director on board the M/Y
Viking of Kos .
He works for them until 1988.
1985

Patricia (Lacen) G. Horter .
In the winter he visits her in Barrow, the administrative center of the North
Slope Borough , Alaska, and meets Margaret Gray .
1987
Costas
and Ketty C. Emmanuel purchase a second farm (from the Koukourakis
family) at Hosti , Crete,
Greece, and in the next few years restore the existing house . On
November 14, Gregory C. Emmanuel marries Lacen G. Horter
in Yachats, Oregon, and moves to Barrow
, Alaska,
USA.

Constantine

son of Elli Efrosini (nee Emmanuel) and Montgomery (Monty) Grim, is born in Fort
Myers, Florida.
1990
Nicholas

son of Elli Efrosini (nee Emmanuel) and Montgomery (Monty Grim), is born in Fort
Myers, Florida. Alexander , their third son, is born in 1993. Costas
G. Emmanuel retires. Ketty
and Costas
move to Greece and spend winters in Athens and the rest of the year on their farm at Hosti , Crete.
